We have rented to hundreds of happy vacationers over the last 19 years, so we know what we are doing. We love sharing our place, want others to enjoy and love it as much as we do. We will make you feel right at home, like family. A “GEM” in the Forest is so unique, so beautiful, a place with God’s fingerprints all over it.

Our one of a kind property and vacation rental by owner is centrally located in the western mountains of North Carolina. It is totally private, situated on 17 wooded acres surrounded by 1000’s of additional acres of woods with a stocked trout pond. What more could you want?

Our vacation rental is centrally located near Brevard (20 minutes away), Hendersonville (20 minutes away), and Asheville (50 minutes away). If you visit the North Carolina mountains, you must come to Transylvania county, “The Land of the Waterfalls”; there are hundreds of waterfalls right here!!

Plus our log cabin is within walking distance of Dupont State Forest (most famous state park in North Carolina). And, we are just 3 miles from the famous Dupont State Forest waterfalls: Hooker Falls, High Falls, Triple Falls, Bridal Veil Falls

Whatever sport or activity you enjoy you will find it close by: hiking, fishing, mountain biking, waterfalls, wildlife and bird watching, kayaking, white water rafting, canoeing, zip lining, gem mining, horseback riding, rock climbing, sight seeing, visiting micro-breweries, shopping and dining out, or just plain relaxing. Brenda does most everything around this place while Laura goofs off. She manages the property, the books, the reservations and all the really, really important stuff. Very strange indeed, but her favorite job on the mountain is mowing and weed eating; she won't let Laura even have a turn. She is a real momma hen and kind of drives Laura crazier than she already is at times.

Laura is a great fisherman and fish cleaner. If you need help, just ask and she will assist, She has taught many kids how to fish, and several have caught there "first-ever" right her in the "GEM's" pond. She is pretty goofy. She adores photographing wildlife.Her main duties are to aggravate Brenda. She is a handyman, a webmaster and a marketing expert. She built this beautiful website. Do you need one???
